Opening Session on Monday, September 22 will be an opportunity to hear from experts in their fields on topics pertinent to all township officials.
A full day of seminar breakouts will be conducted on Tuesday, September 23. Topics will include: Techniques for Social Work, Township Assistance Administration, Township Policies, Addressing Mental Health Issues with Clients, Risk Management, Cemetery Care, and many more. The State Board of Accounts will be providing examiners to give you guidance with any issues you may have with your township. Plan to bring any relevant files which you would like to address one-on-one with SBOA personnel.
Tuesday's luncheon will be a celebratory retirement party for outgoing Trustees and Board Members. Please plan to attend and bring along your replacement, if that has been determined (unopposed in November).
On Tuesday evening the ITA will present its annual awards for Trustee, Board Member, Township & Employee for 2014. Please consider nominating an official or township that has demonstrated good government "beyond the call of duty".

Each year the Indiana Township Association (ITA) awards one outstanding township trustee with the "Harold Gene Stoffer"Â Trustee of the Year award. The ITA proudly presented the 2013 award to Julie Roush, Trustee of Fairfield Township, Tippecanoe County.
The distinguished award was announced during the ITA's annual educational conference, held in Indianapolis on September 24th and is "given to a trustee who demonstrates passion and ingenuity for the job of trustee"Â, according to Executive Director Debbie Driskell. "For that, Trustee Roush certainly possesses those qualities and more!"Â she said.
The Indiana Township Association (ITA) proudly presented its "2013 Township of the Year" award to Washington Township Marion County "“ Frank Short, Trustee.
Each year, the ITA's Awards Committee searches for townships that move "above and beyond"Â toward effective delivery of services in the most economical means possible. Additionally, the committee members seek to give recognition for innovation and progress.
The Indiana Township Association (ITA), last week during its annual educational conference, bestowed the "Charles Bogden Memorial"Â Township Board Member of the Year upon Ed Pierce of Delaware Township, Hamilton County (Fishers), where he has served since 1999.
Mr. Pierce was awarded the honor by his peers for demonstrating the essence of a public servant. "The ITA is certainly proud of the volunteerism that Ed exhibits in his township,"Â stated Mary Hart, ITA's President.
